TERRITORIAL TRAINING By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, October 11. Important changes have been intro duced in the training of the New Zealand. Territorial Army with the view of obtaining increased efficiency. The most far-reaching decision applies to the Senior Cadets. An entirely new syllabus has been adopted, which will be opread over the four years they are Senior Cadets. This provides for theii being put through the same number oi drills as a recruit in the regular British Army during six months' continuous training. DOMINION; FINANCES Auckland, October 11. The Hon. A. M. Myers, acting-Minis ter of Finance, states that the tota ordinary revenue for the six month tnded September 30 amounted ti £0,349,027, against £.">,455,500 for tin correspondoing six months in the pre ceding year. The difference in favo: of the current year, £893,127, 'wa ascribed' partly to additional taxatioi and partly to the 'buoyancy of revenu due to a continuance of commercial am industrial prosperity. The Expenditure from the Consolid ated Fund for the six months wa £0,256,903, against £5,930,419 for th - corresponding six months in the pre vious year. The increase of £318,48 was accounted fo'.- wholly by the wa bor.us and increased payments for in and sinking fund. The excess of revenue over expenditure for the firs half-year amounted io £9'2,724. JiOSS SEA RELIEF EXPEDITION. ©uncdin, October 11. Captain IT. "Davis reached Dunedi last night by train from the Bluff, s which port he arrived yesterday in tli Paloona from Melbourne. A telegrai from Wellington last week stated ths Captain Davis will command t!i Aurora, which is at present lying a Port Chalmers, on her voyage to tli relief of the Rosa Sea party. Captai Davis was met by Mr j. J. Kinsey, ( Christe'nureh, who is associated with M John Mill, Port Chalmert, a3 the Ne Zealand committee of advice. Mr. Kii sey stated that it is not Captain Davi intention to make a statement of ail kind respecting the position to which has been appointed.
