LAND FOR MAORI SOLDIERS.

20,090-ACRE BLOCK OF LAND, Taihape, October 7. A meeting of the Ngatiawa and Ngatiwhia natives is being held this afternoon to complete arrangements for presenting to the Government a further 20,000 acres of land in the Ohauko block, adjoining that given by the Tuwharetoa tribe, for settling returned Maori soldiers. Tile natives wish Dr. Pomare to announce these as united gifts to the Government, making 4.">,000 acres altogether for providing farms for returned men.
