WITIORA CLUB At tlie Witiora links on Thursday last, a medal round was played, the scores also to count as the final round for the Medley Cup. The match was won by J. Stclir, with a score of S5, less handicap 18—07; A. S. Hasell being second with 80, less 14—72. The following were tl\o best scores in the Medley Cup competition: Stohr, nett 'core for the four rounds, 200; J. Simpson, 301; T. Furlong, 313; A. Smith, Pi!); J. S. S. Medley, 329. On Thursday next a mixed foursome will be played for trophies presented by Mr. A. S. Hasell. The entry fee for man ni d nartner will be 2s 6d, which will be devoted to the Red Cross Fund. On the 10th, there will be an open competition for all golfers, whether members of Witiora or not. An entry fee of Is will be charged for ladies, and 2s for men. these fees to be devoted to the Soldiers' Christmas Comforts Fund. The proceeds of last Thursday's match and the entry fees for the senior and junior championships will also go to the same' fund. The Witiora Club has completed the lengthening of its course, t' improvements adding 488 yards to the 18 holes. The old 4th hole has been cut out and the "Sloper" lengthened thereby from 380 to 528 yards with a' bogey of six. The new hole measures 310 yards, and l the "Rocks" as altered 409 yards as against 375 on the okl course. Locke considers with these improvements that the Witiora Club will now have the best nine ho'e course in New Zealand.
