HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
SHOWS FOR IPATRIOTIC PURPOSES,
At a meeting of the Horticultural Society's Committee, held on Wednesday evening, Mr. J. B. paton, in the absence of Mr. J. Gibson president), occupied the chair. Other members present were Mesdames Dockrill, Morrison, F.llerin, Colville, Newman, McGahey, Missps Hcmpton, Fabian. Smith, Curtis, Messrs N. Allen, E. B. Kyngdon, G. H. Bolby, and R. Corney.
It was decided that the Spring Show should be held in the Whiteley Hall, and the suggestion made at the previous meeting that the proceed? of all shows hchLjiiis year should be allotted to patriotic purposes was carried. It was also decided that members' tickets should be sold as usual.
Thursday, November 30, was resolved upon as the date foi the Spring Show, and it was agreed that there should he flower and produce stalls, and that afternoon tea should be provided. The following TOmmittees, with power to add, were appointed:—Produce: Mcsdames McGahey and Ooekrill, Misses Smith and Curtis, Messrs Dolby, Gibson, Kingdon, Allen and Co-nney. Flowers: Mesdames 'Morrison, Ellcrm, Gibson, Newman. Misses Fabian and 'Hempton.
