THE EMPIRE.

LAST OF STINGAREE TO-NIGHT.

"THE VILLAIN WORSHIPPER." The last of the "Stingaree' adventures will be presented on the new programme at the Empire this evening. Like preceding episodes this picture increases in interest as the bushranger nears the end of his adventurous career. In "The Villain Worshipper" .he takes in hand a young man who has set "Stingaree" up a his idol, and seeks to emulate his feats. The bushranger succeeds in his efforts to cure the misguided youth but at the cost of a great sacrifice in his own part. There is a great surprise in store for "Stingaree" followers in the dosing scene of this episode. There is a good supporting programme, including the usual "Empire" weekly war topicals and cartoons, also a two reel TriangleKeystone comedy, "The Village Vampire," in which the redoubtable Fred Mace provides plenty of laughable stunts in a picture that is also full of thrills. - Tfi.irOßTJnw, "THE STRAIGHT ROAD." At the matinee to-morrow a complete change of programme will be introduced for Saturday only. The chief item on this list is a superb "Paramount" feature, "The Straight Road," in which Miss Glayds Hansen appears in the character of "Moll O'Hara," a girl of the New York slums. The story tells in a vivid, forceful manner of the life of a girl whose surroundings are of the lowest, whose education and parentage are of the worst, but whose natural instincts lead her to go "straight." Excellent acting and production, combined with a very human story, makes a successful picture. A good supporting programme has been arranged, and includes some striking official war films.
