BOWLING.

THE OKATO CLUB. The Okato Club held a very successful annual meeting on Monday night, when the majority of the bowlers were present. The club, although only in its infancy, showed a balance in hand of £7 103 lid. This year the club is branching out, having decided to affiliate with the centre. The officers for the "year are Mr. P.. P. Roebuck, president; Mr. J. S. Fox, vice president; Mr. W. C. Franks, secretary and treasurer. F. J. Thomson, C. Andrews, and J. McLeod, together with the president and secretary, form the managing committee. The following new members were elected:—D. Hiekford, A. Walls, A. Mnir, J. Brophy, A. Sanson, E. Ludum. The club can now boast of a membership of twenty. The club has decided to have its official opening day on Thursday, October 10. The green' is now open for practice. The president (Mr. It. F. Roebuck} has presented to the club a set of bowls to be competed for during the season.
