Not a few people have raised the question, in view of the recent acquisition by the P. and 0. Company of a considerable share interest in the New Zealand Shipping Company, whether the company that has been intimately connected with the Dominion will undergo any change of name. It is understood, further, says a Christcliureh paper, that no chang; in the personnel of the New Zealand Shipping Company's staff afloat or ashore is to be made as a result of the acquisition by the P. and O. Company of shares in the New Zealand Shipping Company, the business of which will be conducted, as in the past, by a board of directors in Christcliureh.
