THOSE WHO HAVE FALLEN' Private Leonard F. Webster (New Zealand Medical Corps), of Auckland, was wounded and admitted to hospital on September 17. He is a son of Mrs. F. L. Webster, New Plymouth. Amongst those killed in action appears the jiame of Captain Douglas Playfair Fraser. aged twenty-eight, who was well-known in Stratford, having been for a short time engaged in the Stratford office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Captain Fraser was associated with the lato Sergeant-Major Bonar and was regarded as a very popular officer when in command of No. 05 Company, Stratford Senior Cadets. He left Stratford in February, 1!>14, to join his father in business at Tiinaru, when he was appointed a Lieutenant in the Transport Corps.—Stratford Post. Sergeant Frank Ducker, a son of Mr. James Ducker, of Frtmkley Road, New Plymouth, has been appointed postmaster at the Papawai Military Camp Post Office. He enlisted and went into camp with the 11th Reinforcements as a private. After undergoing his infantry training, lie was transferred to Headquarters Staff at Featherston Military Camp as corporal and sergeant in Headquarters Telephone. Exchange. Second-Lieutenant 11. W. Kennedy, reported wounded, is the second son of Mr. G. S. Kennedy, of Mewburn Avenue, . Mount Eden. He was born at Inglewood and educated at the local public school, where he held the highest ranto in the cadets. On leaving school he joined the infantry volunteers. When the Defence scheme came into force he joined the North Tarnnaki Mounted Rifles, being a scoutmaster at the same time. Later, he accepted a commission in the cadets, and when war was declared his name wat among the frs* to be sent in, but nearly a year elapsed before lie was called up. Up to the time of his enlistment he was engaged it l farming. His brother, Private Clyde Kennedy, was killed at Gallipoli on August 7 of last year. Among the men of the Rifle Brigade who fell on September 15 was Rifleman Frank Ellis F. Tansey, son of Mr. M. Tansey, Oliakune, and a brother of Mrs. Ken. Webster, New Plymouth. Another brother, Rifleman Lionel Tansey, is also at the front. Captain James Frederic (killed in Mesopotamia) was oorn in Invercargill .'IS von.ns ago. He was educated at tho local Ilig'h School, and went from the Otago University to the London Uiflivcrsitt. Ho afterwards -purined his studies in France. Captain Frederic returned to New Zealand, and for some years ho resided in Auckland. Later lie went to Madras, and nvas lighting under General Townslienid when hi met his death, Captain Frederic's mother resides i» Auoklaad. Mr. N. Lovcridge, of Hurford Road, has received a cable from his son Edgar, to the effect that he is not serloualv wounded, and ii now on the mendt
