ST. JOHN'S AMBULANCE.

The annual report and balar.eo-sheet, as follow, wre adopted on the motion of« the president and Mr. Dempscv:— A home nursing C ]„ SS) conducted by Dr. Rex Brewster, was held last year at the Technical College, commencing in September. The doctor gave nine lectures. A practical demonstration in bed-making, thermometer reading, etc., was given ay Sister Wallace, of the New iP'lymotil.;i Hospital staff, which proved both interesting and instructive to the member* of the class. Tiic roll number total'.'d 417; the average attendance was about CO. Drs. Black-ley and Wade h-slt an examination on the Ist and 2nd of December last. Forty ladies went no for the examination, anil twenty-eight were successful in passing. Classes will not be held this year, as the doctors are not able to devote the necessary tiuu .'or giving the lectures. This is due to vlve war, as so many of our medical men have volunteered their services and grne to the front.

Reel Cross '\Vork.—At the request of his Excellency the Governor, the president, the deputy-mayor (Mr. W. A. Colli,-?') and the secretary (Mrs. Doekrill) organise! a house-to-house and street collection, on October 23, 1015, in aid of the British Red Cross (Lord Lansdowne's appeal), and they were ably assisted by the St. John Ambulance classes. The amount collected totalled £.)•(" r«3 fld. At the request of the Patriotic Committee the St. John Ambulance co-operated with the local branch of the British Red Cross Society and organise 1 a co'lection for the French Red Cross "und, on February 26, 1911!, which realised £4'2l Is Bd. Again on June 24, 1010 the St. John Ambulance assisted with a street collection for "Navy Day," which amounted to £214 7s 7<L The above efatoment will show that during the put year the St. John Ambulance has been doing a share in collecting funds tor Red Cross purposes, which' is one of the principal objects of the Association during war time. ELECTFJX 0* OFFICERS. The following officers wore elected:— President, v'n- Mayor (Mr. C. H. Burgpss (re-elected); executive committee, Mesdanus Dowting aiul Hnckrill, Misses Stanford. 0. Mackuy, R. Clarke, Messrs W. Avibury, 11. Dempsey, W. Berridge, and R. C. Jluglit-s (all reelected). Mrs. Doel;v:i; was re-elected secretary and treasurer. Votes of thanks were necorrted Drs. Wade, Biaekloy. and Brewster, and Sister Wallace, for the services tliey had rendered to the society; also to Mr. Gray, director of the Technical College, for the usb o< a room for the holding of classes. On the motion of Messrs H. Dempsey and \V. C. Berridge a warm vote of thanks was parsed to Mrs, Dockrill for her services as lion, secretary and treasurer.
