A WONDROUS WORLD'S TOUR.
"THE ALL-BED BOUTE." Probably no picture yet shown in New Plymouth has had so many of the qualities essential for popularity as the film called "The All-Bed Boute," which will be introduced at the Empire Theatre on Monday next. Travel pictures usually ninke an appeal and arouse interest when ordinary subjects tail, and doubtless most people who have had much experience of picture shows have often wondered why a greater number of travel subjects are not usually included on picture programmes. The "All-Bed Boute," which ranks as easily the best travel picture that has come to New Plymouth, portrays a journey from Sydney to London ,by way of Auckland, Island ports and Canada It occupies more than onehalf of the entire programme, and throughout its showing never fails to be exceedingly interesting and instructive. The film commences with the departure ff the B.M S. Niagara from Sydney on her maiden voyage to Auckland. Many familiar scenes in Auckland are submitted before the journey is continued to the Islands, where a number of highly interesting views in and aronnd Suva are shown. At Honolulu there are exhilarating glimpses of surf-board riding, and some studies of the quaint native customs. It is not until the camera is transferred to the C.P.B. railway, however, that the picture reaches the most impressive portion of the journey. In the 3000 mile ride across Canada some magnificent views are shown of the huge mountain peaks and giant glaciers of the Bocky Mountains, and of the wonderfully beautiful low-lying country. Winnipeg and Montreal are both visited, and pictures taken on the transcontinental journey end with some fine impressions of Niagara Falls. Crossing the Atlantic the camera man was fortunate enough to secure some excellent pictures of rough water, but one is taken without discomfort to Liverpool and then to London. Good subjects are chosen in the world's metropolis for reproduction. The whole picture approaches as nearly as possible to the real thing, and most people will find an hour or so spent at the Empire, well worth while. There are several other attractive items on tiie bill, including an interesting ;ditlon of the "Pathe Gazette," a drama called "An Unwritten Play" and a Vitagraph comedy called "Count 'Em." featuring Anita Stewart and Earle Williams. A special matine will be given Tuesday afternoon, commencing at 3 p.m.
