Bombardier Hugh Stocker, reported' killed, was n son of the Ven. Archdeacon Stocker, formerly of Invercargil) and now residing iii Christcliurch, and was a brother of Sir. Harry Stocker, of New Plymouth. Bombardier Stocker w&b 2T) years of age, and was educated at Invert etirgili. Some, years ago he was in tha office of Mr E. Griffiths, Sew Plymouth,' and before enlisting was sheep-farmrLg near Oisborne.
Air. W. K. Bendall received word ywi« torday that his eldest son, George, died of wounds on September 10. Private iiendall was an old boy of the New Plymouth High School, where lie was very popular. He left with the 13th Reinfi reoinents, and would have been 21 jears of age. in January nevt. -
Advice has been received that Private J. W. Ward (second son of Mr. J. Ward, New Plymouth), who left with the 13th ■Reinforcements, has been wounded.
Mr. H ly. Roberts, Courtenay Street, iO(oivcd news yesterday that his third eon, Claude, was killed in action on September 15. Private Roberts was only twenty-two years of age. Mrs. T). Simpson, New Plymouth, haa received advice that her brother, Private Albert Ilea! Crozier, was killed in action, on September 15. Before he en'.isted, Private Crozier was employed at tho /■loturoa Freezing Works.
