ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
HANGED IN A BURNING TENT, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, September 20. A farm laborer named W. F. John stone, employed by Mr.' P. Sim at Crookston t committed suicide by hanging himself with a piece of fencing wire in an unoccupied hut, which he set on fire before taking liis life. When Mr. Sim went to investigate the walls were falling in, and the body was much burned. Apparently the deceased, who had ■been in the district only a few months, had previously been an inmate of a mental hospital.
BOY DROWNED. Christchurcli, September 25. 'David Sturrock, aged ten years, was drowned in the Avon this afternoon *by falling over the side of a boat. SAD END TO A HOLIDAY, 1 Chrisichurch, September 25. A woman died suddenly in a tea-room in Anns|gh street on Saturday. She was identified yesterday as Nellie Horn, aged about 35, whose relatives reside in Wellington. She was here on a holiday, and died rniiile drinking a cup of tea. Her relatives had only lately arrived in Wellington from Hobart. \ SUICIDE BY HANGING. ' Christehurch, September 25. Joseph Henry Elsob, aged 65, a moulder, residing in Bnrbado'es street, hanged himself on Saturday night. He had been suffering from delusions as the result of an accident sustained recently.
'A MOTOR FATALITY. / Wellington, September 27. While motoring from Eketah'una to Masterton last evening, Mrs. Timms was Killed at a point in the road near Kaipororo. The lights of the car failed and the vehicle went over a bank. Mrs. Timms' daughter, who was in the car, suffered a severe shaking. Eketahumt, September 27. There was a fatal motor accident at Kaipororo last night Mrs. and Miss Timms were returning to Masterton from Damievirke, the lights were, bad and the car went off-the road, capsizing into a creek. Both the occupants were pinned under the car, Mrs. Timms with her face down in the water. A car containing D. D. Ryan and a doctor was in front, and, not seeing the lights, they went back and managed to lift the car sufficiently to ease Misw Timms and then got help to lift the car further. Miss Timms was not seriously injured.
