Her cargo was 400 tons of coal and 14 tons of bricks. ■■■■"" THE HUIA, Tlip auxiliary schooner Huia arrived at the breakwater at 1.15 p.m. yesterday, from Wellington, which port siie left on Friday. After discharging 40 tons of "ement, and 18 tons of explosives she left oi the return trip at 8.30 p.rn, THE CORINNA. This trader arrived yesterday evening from Wellington with a general cargo, and will sail again this morning. She is du? back here on Saturday evening or e"»i« Sunday morning.
"' TI-IE lONIC. Mr. Newton King, local agent for.the Shaw, Savill Company, has been advised that the lonic was expected to arrive at Hobart on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o clock.
NOTES. The search for the three men (Captain (!. S. Davis, Leslie Craw, mate, and Char'es Smith, engineer), iwlio formed the crew of the Auckland scow Vesper, which was found floating bottom uppermost off Whangaparapara, Groat Barrier, on Tuesday of last week, is being continued, but so far without avail. Information was received on Saturday that tiie American barque <iolden Gate left San Francisco with a full cargo of case oil for New Zealand on September 11. As this vessel made a >'ery good passage from the Pacific Coast to' Auckland a few months ago. she may lie expected in Auckland about five weeks' time, and after discharging at Auckland will go on to Wellington to finish loading. She is commanded by Captain Burgess, and is of 2273 toils register, being one of the largest American sailers seen in these waters.
Consignees of New Zealand cargo aboard tlie cx-fterman steamer Adelaide will be interested in the latest cablegram in reference to the vessel's movements, received by the Sydney Chamber of Commerce:—"Adelaide expects complete machinery repairs to-morrow, Commander protests vessel unseaworthy without (locking. This contention supported' hy Liverpool Salvage Association's representative; both agree dock ship without discharging .sufficient. Have arranged with Admiralty vessel dock iSimonstown about September 27; not available before."
