AMERICAN MOTOR FATALITIES. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. New York, Sept. 25. More person? have been killed by motor-cars in the United State's between January 1 and September 1, aiocrding to official records, than have been slain in Groat Britain by Zeppelins. The total motor-car deaths are 1040, lind the total injured over 8000. Chicago heads the list with 203 killed, anri New York is next with 15S. VICTORIAN FLOODS. Melbourne, Sept. 20. A flood the worst in the history ot tho State, has occurred. A boy of 11 years fell into a drain and was drowned. Large passenger boats on the Maribyrnong River were wrecked. Telegraphic communication has been seriously interrupted. At Werribee an old man delivering milk had his waggon capsued. He hun» or to a fence for an hour with only his head above water, and finally sank. The Werribee overflowed, submerging all low-lying land. At Seymour aman named Chinnicks, his wife and four children were sheltering on the.roof of a houte when it collapsed. The father, and children were drowned, but the wife wap rescued, unconscious, with a dead baby elapsed in lier arms. Several boats laden with: reseued people were capsized, but the Oo.Mpants were saved.
