A communique states: On the northern front, in the Cabman mountains, the advance continues. In the Jiu valey partial enemy actions were repulsed, rhe total prisoners taken on this front ire GSB4. In the Dobrudja the left flank has progressed. •ALLIES' PROGRESS CONTINUES. ~ London, Sept. 26. A French communique states: The English continue their raids on the left ban!: of the Struma. They successfully attacked Jumimab, northward of Tiafiinos. Our artillery is active from 'Lake Doiran to the Vardar, and caused a lire in Doiran. Our advance on the left win'* continues along the whole line. Tile Serbians in the region of Brod reached the frontier crest northward of Krasograd. The French north-east of Fiorina captured t*'e outskirts of Petorak after lively fighting. They also advanced northward of Fiorina. Tlie Russians captured a stronglyfortified hill westward of Fiorina,. BULGARIAN EFFORT 'BROKEN. Amsterdam, Sept. 25. The Bulgarian effort in the Dobrudja has been broken. The arrival of Turkish reinforcements suggests, that the enemy's j reserves are exhausted ROUMANIAN GAINS. Sept. 215, The Roumanianstoontinue the struggle for Mount Calimanu, and they are- ad vancing towards the Austrian trenches south-west of Dorna Vatra. The Austrians have been taken in the rear and have been obliged to abandon the Carpathian passes. It is reported that Hungaria here was invaded by the 'Roumanians, who repulsed the enemy almost as far as the old Roumanian frontier. TRANSYLVANIA WILL BE LOST. New York, Sept. 25. M. Shuvaff, Russian War Minister, in special cablegram to the New York World, comments on ihe Roumanian position. The Germans know quite well that Transylvania will be lost irreparably; that has already been plainly determined by the occupation by theßoumanians of the entire Alt Valley from Hermannstadt and Kronstadt to Szereda and Chik. Germans realised that the menace to communications between Berlin and Constantinople was too great for her to resist. She also understood the tremendous political effect if the Boumanians conquered Transylvania.
