Also ran: Westella, Birkenetta, Paparess, Last Hope, Fidelio, Onward, Moutoa, Hylena, Black Lake, Stream of Gold, Quinn's Post, War Post. Entering the straight Flying Spur and Polynesian were together, but the former won comfortably by two lengths. Time, 2.2 2-5.
DOMINION DAY HACK.-.Rose Pink 1, Bronk Delaval 2, Haumakaka 3. Also ran: Cleft, Lady Frisco, Ladify, Kukri,
Eongoro, Silenus, • iPall Mall, Keynote. Won comfortably. Time', 1.42. STEEPLECHASE—Kirkby 1, Tauira 2, Silver Monarch ;!.. Also ran: Marton, Kew, Merry Jack, Ruatangata, Kiwitea, Critic, Crystal Star, Cron Park, Happy Jack. Critic fell at the first jump and several others ran off, leaving five to finish. Won 'bv two lengths. Time, 4.25 2-5.
MEMORIAL STAKES.—Tarinjramutu 1, Gold Soult 2, Master Moutoa £ Also ran: Square, Deal, Lady Louisa, Orleans, Maniaroa, Sir Solo, Red Ribbon, Merry Gain, Roumania. Won nicely by a head. Time, 2.7.4-5. STEWARDS HANDICAP.—Miss Deval 1, Spectual 2, Pearl Marie 3. Also ran: Spleiulidus, Mahzoltov, Manu, Miraculous, Nobleman. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.15. PLYlNG.—Coldstream 1. Jean Laddo 2, Marimba 3. . Also ran: Avon Park, Taringaniutu, Master Achilles, Botanist Hushabye, Menelaus, Martial Air. Goldstream, with a fine run, won by a length. Time, 1.15 1-5. WELTER.—Rongoro 1, Sid Wallace 2, liorsil 3.—Also ran: Bayswater, Lady Multilid, Detroit, Hastie, Miss Sation, Amity. Won by a head. Time, 1.29 3-5.
The totalisator figures were £18,507 this year, as against £1.0,995 for the corresponding day last year. -..
