A SPLENDID TWO-STAR PRO GRAMME. "YOUTH" AND "BRIGHT LIGHTS." There was an exceptionally good audience at the Empire last night when the magnificent V'itagraph istar, -"Youth," and the screamingly funny Triangle-Ki-ystone comedy, "Bright Lights," were screened for the first time.' "Bright Lights," is a very humnious film. Mabel Mormand is a waitress in a small town cafe. Fatty the cook is her lover. A •.nmmcreial traveller with a large check suit and a small cheque book, whispers in Mabel'* ear a tale of gaiety amid the bright lights, and thus Mabel is lureU to the '''cart of the City that *a« no eart." Fatty finds, her in a low down cabaret in one of New York's roughest quarters. In endeavoring to rescue her, !if is badly "beaten up" by the toughs that frequent U.c place. He returns to the charge with a troupe of sailors fitfound on* the street, and the fight for possession of Mabel surpasses anything ever Keystoned. The entire second v ecl of this comedy was acted in one of tne Bowery dives and the faces of the characters whom Sennit secured from t?iat locality, to act in the production, are—well, they're past description. Long hefore the "scrap" finished Mabel had lecided that beans and bacon at Bark ■ Hut we'e better than beer and bruises in the Bowery. Supporting this great : nr.iedy is the line drama, "Youth, the Vitagfaph company and a very inierecting selection of topical and other pictures.
