Xext Saturday, the Flower Stall will be run in the interests of the Maori soldiers, at the front or invalided home. ' r 'his is a mo-t happy idea. Blaeli, yellow, or white, the world is fighting 5, tyrant, who cares naught for race, home, or religion, and many of the pakelia's Maori kindred has gone forward to "fightthe good fight of his brothers." To Taranaki people next Saturday's "Flower Dav" should specially commend itself.

Mrs. Burgess acknowledges with thank; the following donations: Soldiers' Oomfoi'.s: I'ungarohu (per Mr. Guild), .£24: and from the K&iiotu Patriotic Guild a case, complete, of Christmas comfor*s an:! also £lO 15s for cigarettes and tobacco in bond. The Rahotu case cf cheer is a marvellously good one, probably the bist that has been sent f'.rward from Taranaki. Tt included no loss than eighteen Christmas cakes, securely packed in tins. For Christmas gifts, Mrs. Burgess acknovi'ledgc-s also: Oaonui schoolchildren 17s 6c\ Mr. and Mrs. Smart lOak'.un) £l, Misses Smart (Oakura) 10s, I;, C. Hughes £1 Is, Mrs. McMurra) .01. On behalf of the Patriotic Committee, Mrs. Burgess wishes to specially acknowledge gifts of fiowirs, etc., from Mesdames Pitt (Kenwood Road). Wells (Manjoiei), John Gibson, and Mi, McI'iwen.

Mr=. C. 11. Burgess report? that the net proceeds of the dramatic recital, organised by Mis. P. J. Nathan, and held in the Good Templar Hall last Monday evening, amount to £"i2 12s (id, which amount will b; transmitted to headquarters immediately for the benefit of Ko. 1 ."Tew Zea'biid Stationary Hospital. The workers of the Red Cross Mart report splendid success on Saturday, the total takings being nearly £2S. Included in this a*nount is £lO, which re-

sulted from the "ale, conducted by Mr. C. Fairhrother, of the draught horse given by Mr. Olivei Hoby. The donations from country n rplc were, as usual, very generoi s, and there was a plcntitude of articles for the committee to dispose of. The ladies of tiie Red Cross Committee (when will they ever become tired?) have every reason to be satisfied with the result of an "oil"' day. Tin Mart will be open r.gain on Saturday, and gifts of all descriptions will be acceptable. The Red Cross Mart had a number of ilowe* sellers in the streets on Saturday. In this direction were prominent Misses M. Nodder, G. Williams, D. Bond, K. Christiansen. D. Hargrcaves, E. Jordan, E. Knight, L. Beaton, B. Column, B. and 0. Sole, and Master McXeill.
