BOWLING.
"The coming tournament in Wellington is going to be the biggest ever held in the history of bowls in New Zealand," said Mr: E. J. Hill at the meeting of the council of the Pominion Bowling Association at Wellington last week. His Excellency the Governor has been appointed patron of the 'Dominion Bowling Association.
Mr. M. F. Barnett, president of the Dominion Bowling Association, has (says the Lyttelton Times) received the following letter from Captain Richardson, officer in command of the wireless station at Apia, Samoa:—"We are putting down a bowling green here, and it has just struck me that you might be able to pick up some old bowls, almost anything in tiie shape of a bowl would do. There is a big crowd here just now, as this has become the central station in the Pacific, and must be well guarded. If you are successful in getting some bowls, send them to the Lady Liverpool Depot, and they will send them over. It is very monotonous here for the men. 1 have been trying to get a billiard table for them, but so far have not succeeded." Mr. Barnett requests clubs, particularly the older ones, or individual bowlers to do their best for Captain Richardson. He would like those sending Ibowls to advise him of the fact.
