The communique makes no mention of the Halicz fighting, but unofficial reports state that the tattle continues with extreme violence. General Cherbatcheff's troops are fortifying the captured Ger- I •nan positions, which were exposed to incessant counter-attacks for forty-eight Aoujs, the only result being that the (Russians have captured three more lines. A telegram from Petrograd states that ' General Brusiloff destroyed an entire (German division at Naragovka and crushed a Turkish regiment south of the jglota Lipa.
