(By "Moturoa.")

Fine weather has favored training operations at Wanganui tliis week, and a number of good gallops have been reeled oft'. The attendance of touts mows steadily each morning, and considerable interest is being worked up for tiie meeting, which takes place on Thursday and on Saturday. The tracks pve in fine order, and provided the weather holds good a successful meeting should result. Monday night's acceptances were ■airly satisfactory, though more might have been -wished for in the Flying Handicap and in the Gonville and Okeliu Hurdles. Good fields are assured in the Wanganui Guineas, Spring Handicap, and hack events. , The best worker on the Wanganui tracks of late ha;, been Square Deal, ••vho must run well in whatever he starts. Panmure is galloping splendidly, and Tyson, Interlude, Good Hope, 'Jombustion, Kevalenta, and Moulu appear to be very fit. Harry Cutis arrived on Monday evening With Good Hope and Wrestler. The tormer is looking very well. "Dick" Mason lias a trio on the spot, nainelj Nones, Greenstrect, and Splendunt (Hyniettns—Sunglow). None of the team has done much since their arrival. George Price ha 3 a big crowd under )-is care, including Panmure, Sedd-el tiahr, Cease Fire, Revalenta, and lesser hght3. The quartette have all worked well at Wanganui, and Cease Fire is being whispered as a likely Wanganui Guineas winner. Frank Lind has put in an appearance with Powder King (King's Guest— Cold Powder!, and Field Boy (Field Battery—Fishermaid). Bert Russell is here with Korero, and F. Cofl'ey witli Gayeiuni. A large number will arrive on Wednesday. Trainer Dick Johnson left yesterday morning with Rewi Poto, Paraoa and Hinetoa (by Maniapoto Gallantry). Hie last-named is a full-sister to foa Tere, and is engaged, in the Maiden to morrow. British Arch, winner of the New Lynn Handicap at Avondale, paid well over half-century. "Limit" dividends were also attached to the successes of T.ady Penury, Bonny .Tcan and Multiplication (second). It was a good day for the layers though the scratching of Tararua Jack in the first event, and the success of Tenacious, * Scottish Knight (an odds-on order), and Waiuta made the look anything but promising.
