The authorities are resorting to extraordinary propaganda methods. Gorman newspapers deplore the total e ruin of the tobacco industry and point ■out that extravagant smokers now buj the cheapest halfpenny cigars or th< poorest pipe tobacco.
AN OFFICIAL REPORT. Vienna, September 15. A communique reports that fiere< fighting continues in the Carpathians The enemy attacks at Smotrec, Ludowa and Carpiil Mountain were Repulsed witl sanguinary losses. Torpedoers, support ed by air squadrons, attacked Trieste but the damage was inconsiderable.
