I LINE OF TRENCHES TAKEN. SATISFACTORY PROGRESS. London, September 15. An Italian comiiiuni(|u.e says:—Our heavy artillery and trench mortars bombarded the enemy east of fiorizia. On the Carso, in torrential rains, we stormed positions east of Valona, taking lines of entrenchments. We took 2(1(10 prisoners yesterday. Our attacks are proceeding satisfactorily, and Ave. are extending our possession of Mount Gauriol. MORE HUN VANDALISM. ■VENICE AfIAIN BOMBED. Milan, September 14. Austrian aeroplanes visited Venice and bombed the Santa Annie Paolo Church. Pictures by Titian and C-arrac-cio were removed, but it was impossible to fully protect the Doge's burial places adjoining. A hospital was also struck. Newspapers are demanding reprisals. IMPORTANT POSITIONS i CAPTURED. ! SUCCESSFUL AIR RAIDS London, September 14. An Italian communique states:—We captured some important positions .in the /■.a™ Valley and on ilonte Lagazuoi, in the Travenanzas Bostc valley. Italian battleplanes raided Lloyds' arsenal and hydroplane hangars near Trieste, also railway establishments and ships in course of construction. Large fires were observed.
