HORRORS AT KAVA'LLA. CRIMINALS SACK THE TOWN. BULGARIAN RAVISHES. Aitstralian-N.Z. Cable Association. Athens, September 15. Five hundred refugees from Kavalla have reached Volo. They describe as horrible the proceedings when the Geimans demanded the surrender of the town. German airmen on Saturday bombed Kavalla, destroying the Stambul and Tscharchi quarters afod killing ten and injuring many people. German and Bulgarian officers arrived on Sunday and demanded the surrender of Kavalla, also of the Greek garrison. Soldiers thronged the port, demanding boats. The inhabitants took panic and overcrowded the boats, which sank, many women and children being drowned. Colonel Christodoulos refused to permit the Greek garrison to surrender. Many officers and soldiers were drowned while attempting to swim and reach the Allied warships, which arrived at the height of the crisis. The gaol warders fled and prisoners and criminals were, liberated and pillaged the town, the Turkish population co-operating. They sacked the markets, commercial and private houses, and Government depots. Order was only restored when a thousand citizens had been transported to Thasos. Many Bulgarian troops waited within a few minutes' distance of Kavalla. Several Bulgarian officers and soldiers entered the village of Dormidzik and destroyed houses, raped all young girls, and made prisoners of the men. MAKUKOVO CAPTURED. BRILLIANT SERBIAN VICTORY.

Amsterdam, Septemoer 15. The Vossiehe Zeitung's correspondent states that at a meeting of (Greeks and Macedonians the whole population of Drama on Sunday cheered King Constantine and condemned M. Venezelos. The officers telegraphed to the King proraising blind obedience. The correspondent thinks there are no present indications of King Constantine's departure from neutrality.
