(From Our Own Correspondent.) , Inglcwood, Yesterday. The "Cigarette Dance," organised by the ladies of the physical culture class eventuated on Wednesday evening in the Druid's Hall. The'object of .he function was to raise 'funds for cigarettes for Hit hoys at the front, and the approval of the object was duly demonstrated by the large crowd that assembled. The floor was in good order and the music supplied by Miss Curd and Mr. Stockman was of theii usual Rood quality. The duties of M.'sC. ivere duly carried out by Mrs. Peterson and Miss Ncsbit, who lookpd after the visitors in a most attentive manner, and kept the ball rolling merrilv until a little after midnight] The 'net result amounts to about £ll, which, I understand, is to be forwarded to the Overseas Club, who will arrange for the distribution of the cigarettes as directed. Mr. Pereival, who lias been confined to bed for a few days, is. progressing favorably, and expects soon to be about agrtin. The first round of the golf championship lias been drawn as follows: P. O'C'anoll plays ■}. Sutherland; <'!. Oudgeon v. E. Maetzig, and H. .1. Thorn■on v. F. Surrey. The following have byes: A. Johnston, F. Brown, W. Marshall, C. OTarrol! and R. Harlow. The final of the ladies' championship was played on Saturday, when Miss 1.. Uting beat Miss Johnston. The lied Cross Mart is to be open on Saturday in Curtis' Buildings, instead of the C'ofloc Palace.
