Dr. Wylie, late of New Plymouth, is now in charge of an English military] 'hospital.' Mr. C. H. Drew, late of New Pliyx mouth, is learning flying at Hendon, England, and expects shortly to cnteq the Royal Flying Corps for active sew vice. Advice from England states that W. G. Malone, wi?e of the late Lieuten-ant-Colonel Malone, may return to New; Zealand about the end of the year, aq she finds the winter months very trying, Tho death of Mr. Gresley Bukin, fo* the past twenty years editor of tha Evening Post, occurred at Wellington yesterday. Mr. -Lukin was seventy-si* years of age. He was born in Tasmania, and entered the Queensland Civil Service in ISOU, becoming chief clerk in tho Crown Lands Department and subsequently in the Supreme Court. He then became eidtor, and in 1873 proprietor, of the Brisbane Courier. He came to New Zealand in 1593, and on the death of Mr. E. T. Gillon, was appointed editoj of the Post.
