A cabdriver, 72 years of age, was charged with throwing the contents of a tin of pepper in tiie eyes of a passenger, one of a party returning from the races. The pepper-throwing formed a novel and dramatic climax to an argument about the amount of the fare, accused claiming 12s «d, but getting "only 7s (Id and a punch in the chest."
