DRASTIC DEMANDS. Australian-New Zealand Cable Associa-tion.-—Copyright. Washington, Sept. 6. Private advices received state that the Japanese demands on China are more drastic than the summaries indicated. It is believed that Japan has asked for instructions to Chinese troops in Inner Mongolia and South Manchuria not to interfere with Japanese troops in these regions. AMERICA INTERESTED. Washington, Sept. 5. The State Department announces that inquiries will be made immediately by the American Ambassador at Toki'o and the Minister at Peking as to the scope of Japan's demands on China. The State Department is particularly interested in knowing the extent of the Japanese police powers in Mongolia and Manchuria.
