Tho city editor of The Times states that there is no reason to suppose that the Government contemplates the control of colonial wools, but that the Home control will probably affect prices. BRISBANE WOOL SALES. Brisbane, Sept. 0. At the wool sales competition was keen, greasy prices advancing o to 7$ per cent., and all bulk} wool 10 to lf> per cent, lower. The top price for greasy was 24d, and for scoured 40d. HONEY QUOTATIONS. Received Sept. G, 0.10 p.m. London, Sept. 5. The Department of Agriculture, Industries anil Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, September 2. from the High Commissioner foi New Zealand. (Note.—Quotations, unless otherwise specilied, are average market prices on spot): Meat.—Lower prices are being accepted for Argentine mutton and lamb owing to increasing supplies. New Zealand mutton and lamb and Argentine lamb are very scarce. New Zealand mutton, per lb. S%d; ewe mutton. S'/ 4 d; Argentine mutton, !J'/ 4 d; Dutch mutton, first arrivals this season, S'/ 4 d for heavyweight. There ore plenty of buyers for light-weight mutton. New Zealand lamb Slyid, Argentine lamb lf)%d; ■Scotch lambs are in good supply, best quality 13d. There are no supplies of New Zealand beef available. Argentine chilled beef, hinds ll%d, fores 7%d. Butter.—The market is very unlet, and there is little business doing.
