A sensational happening is reported from l'ahuerston North. It is stated that a man forced his way into a private dwelling one evening seized the young woman in charge* bound her with a rope, and then ram« sacked the house. Inquirers made by; the police went to show that the aj> leged acciirrcnce took place about 8.30* when the house was fully lighted, that besides the young woman's father, whoi i* an invalid, there were a number of children in the house at the time, and that nothing was removid by the would-; be burglar. All this (report's the Standard) appeared to have happened without disturbance of any kind, and it was not until the young woman appeared at a neighbor's house with the rope about her. that it wn s learned that anything out of the ordinary had happened.
