DAIRY COMPANY MEETINGS.
L'RUTI VALLEY. The annual meeting of the Vniti Valley Co-operative Dairy Company was held at tlie Uruti Hall last week. Mr. 17. Avoa presiding over a good attendance. The animal report congratulated tlie shareholders on tlie sound financial position of the company, there being' no overdraft, and the joint and several guarantee at the bank having been cancelled. After writing oil' 10 per cent, from building and plant, amounting to £127 (is, the profit and loss account showed a credit bak.nce of .Cl7Ol Us. The directors recommend the payment of the usual dividend of ;3 per cent, and a further payment to suppliers of 2%d per lb. of butter-fat, bringing the average payment to suppliers.to the record price of l(1.41d per lb. The report was adopted. Mi Musker, the retiring director, was re-elected; and Mr. Tunbrnlge was reelected auditor. The usual honorarium of £5 was voted to the chairman, and £2 10s to each of the directors. It was decided to contribute £lO to each of the ftilloiving funds: Wounded Soldiers, Belgian Relief and Red Cross. Mr. K. Pepperell, in the unavoidable absence of 11 r. J, S. Coimett, iddressed the -shareholders on behalf of the Agricultural Society. All those .vho were members of the Taranaki Agricultural Society last year detided to continue their support, authorising the secretary to deduct their subscription from their milk cheque. At a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. R. Aroa was re-elected chairman. WHJTECLIFFS The annual meeting of the White Cliffs Co-operative Dairy Company was held last week, Mr. 11. Wells (chairman) presiding'. The eighth annual report was as follows: The-milk received totals 1,333,5(13 lb., from which has been made 1411,100 lb. of cheese, au average of 9.31b milk per lb. cheese. Butter-fat totalled 00,0201b., being 2.51b. cheese per lb. but-ter-fat, average te9t 4.31 per cent. Cost of manufacturing and putting f.o.b. 1.3d per lb. cheese, against 1.45 d last year. The profit and loss account showed a credit balance of £O9l ISs Gd, which the directors recommend be distributed by a further payment of 2.0 d per lb. of but-ter-fat supplied, making the total 1G.58d per lb. Tlie cliairman mentioned that the company liad donated £5 to the Wounded Soldiere* Fund, £5 to the Belgian Relief and £5 to the Red Cross, The report Was adopted.
