ON THE DOBRUDJA. BULGAR-GERMAN OFFENSIVE. RUSSIANS AND ROUMANIAN'S LINKING UP. Received Sept. 5, >0.25 p.m. London, Sept. 5. Rome reports that the Roumanians on the Dobrudja are falling back on the Russians, before the general BulgarGprman offensive, towards Constanza. The Daily Mail's Bucharest correspondent states that the Russians at Dobrudja are rapidlj- advancing. Times Service. Amsterdam, Sept. 5. The German press are giving prom imence to the Dobrudja campaign, which, it is. stated, General Mackensen commands, because it may decide the Balkan issue. , ROUMANIANS IN HUNGARY JUNCTIONED WITH RUSSIANS. Berlin. September 4. Two Roumanian armies have broken into Hungary and continue to gain ground toward the Maros line, meeting with practically no resistance, except on the wing. The Austro-Germans are offering a stubborn resistance at the point where the Gvergvo range joins the Carparthians, but the Russian and Roumanian armies have joined here.
MR. ASQUITH'S MESSAGE. A STIRRING REPLY. Received Sept. 5, 7.10 p.m. London, Sept. 4. M. Bntinnu telegraphed to Mr. Asquith that his message had profoundly stirred all Roumanians, who were now closely united around their beloved sovereign, and fighting for the just object vtliose attainment they had awaited for generations. They were happy and proud to find themselves comrade! in arms with the great nation which was the first to give modern States the example of political liberty, and was now fighting for the freedom of nations. FURTHER ROUMANIAN SUCCESSES. i, ' Bucharest, Sept. 4. A communique states: We captured the heights west of Borsyck region and Sc-kdi in the Homomsyik region. The enemy attacked the whole Dobrudja frontier south of Bazardjik, but was repulsed. In the Hungarian (Parliament, Count Tisza admitted that hitherto there had been insufficient troops to check the Roumanians. m EFFECT OF' ROUMANIAN ACTION. Amsterdam. Sept. 4. The Frankfurter Zeitung states that owing to the cessation of Roumanian exports, Austria-Hungary has prohibited brewing, and has increased the number of meatless days. Berne, Sept. 4, Since the beginning of the Roumanian offensive no Turkish reinforcements have arrived in Germany or Austria. Trains from Constantinople are laden with fruit and vegetables and return with munitions. GERMANS CLAIM SUCCLS& Received Sept. 3, 6.10 p.m. London, Sept. 4.
