MEETING OP THE EXECUTIVE ' | A meeting 1 of tlic executive of the Paranaki Agricultural Society was held lit the office of the secretary, Mr. A. L. Humphries, on Friday evening. Mr. J. •i. Connett presiding. The chairman gave a resume of the proceedings of the annual meeting of llhc New Zealand Council of Agriculture, at which lie had acted as representative of the society. A very hearty vote of thanks was ac forded to Messrs 1.. B. Webster and W. flcaly for having revised the potato classes of the Winter Show schedule. The suggestions were approved, and tht classification' in future will be:—Kidney, any variety, sis tubers; Up-to-Datc, six tubers; Gamekeepers, six tubers; any other variety white (named), six tubers; other variety eol>ured (named), six tubers; collection twelve distinct varieties, three tubers of each, named, and to be true to name; '.•ollection six distinct varieties, three rubers of each, named, and to be true to name. A very hearty vote of thanks was flccoi'ded to all who had assisted in the removal of the pens and timber from the racecourse, also to Messrs. T. Smeliie, H. C, Sampson, J. Sampson, W. yrant, and N. Hill, for the use of horses, find to Mr. E. H. Piggott for a donation of £1 towards the cost of removing the liens The secretary submitted a statement vf roce'pts and expenditure, which 'ihowed the position of the society to be fory .satisfactory; £937 had been received .in subscriptions, £520 in donalions, cud £OBS had been receive.! on uceount of debentures issued <n connection with the laying out of the new grounds.
