THE EMPIRE.

A STARTLING WORLD-EQUITABLE DRAMA. . FEATURING BEAUTIFUL GAIL KANE. •THE ACTRESS AND THE MINISTER." A remarkable story of tlie stase (from behind the scenes) "is unfolded "in "The Actress and the Minister," a five-reel World-Equitable feature to be screened at the Empire to-night. Florence Burke, a. poor Cabaret singer, has a crippled sister dependent upon her. A woman of daring beauty and resource, she tricks a prominent theatrical, manager into a long engagement at a high salary. She eventually makes good and reaches; stellar honors. To escape the little whispers which were always flying around she decidad on a trip to the coast to see her crippled sister and have a few weeks holiday. There she met the Rev. Robert Feivton, a slum mission workeri He had no knowledge of her identity or her past, but still he loved her. She knew his antipathy for the stage, and to save herself took her sister's name. Fortunately a number of little incidents occurred which convinced him that the woman he loved was only Flo Burke's sister, and not the notorious woman herself. They married, and thu. s they found themselves, the parson, who hated the stage, and the actress, who pretended she wasn't together in the one littls home. The various discoveries, denouncements, and sub-climaxes which lead up to the big punch provide a dramatic story. Gail Kane, well known for her versatility, has the role of Flo. Buike, while Richard Neale is the parson. This fine feature can only be screened to-night and to-morrow owing to several other feature attractions on this week's list of programmes. The box plan is at Collier's.
