TURKS DRIVEN WESTWARD. \ WITH HEAVY LOSSES, f London, Sept. 1. A Russian communique states: The Turks resumed the offensive westward of Gumishknaneh, Krzingan, and at Ognot, but were everywhere repelled. Three Turkish regiments broke through our Turkestan regiment. The gallant Turkestan men immediately made a counter-attack with the 'bayonet, reoccupied the whole position, and drove the Turks westward with severe losses. We captured Tekortuk, northward of the Euphrates. _.. ■■-"-. TURKISH OFFENSIVE ARRESTED. GREAT LOSSES INFLICTED. Received Sept. 3. 5.5 p.m. Petrograd, Sept. 2. The Turkish offensive west of Gumishkaneh lias been arrested. The enemy fled, sustaining great losses. We are pressing the Turks in the Sakkiz region, in the direction of Mosul. RAIDS ON TURKISH POSITIONS. Received Sept. 2, 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 1, News from Mesopotamia states that raids have taken place against the Turkish positions on the Tigris front.
