JIN THE NORTH SEA. 2EPPEL.INS REPLACE GERMAN' WARSHIPS. GERMAN BLUFF. Christiania, Sept. 1. Steamers report that scarcely any Jerman warships are encountered in the .North Sea, but an increasing number of £eppelins are patrolling and communicating wirelessly with submarines. New York, Sept. 1. A Berlin yircless states that the Ger. Jnan steamer Marie, which arrived in ■Batavia in May, ran the blockade in the North Sea. She eluded three lines of blockade, though once within five yards of a British gunboat. She succeeded in taking supplies to the East African forces, and was hit many times during |be bombardment by a warship. GERMAN SUBMARINE SUNK. Received Sept. 3. 5.5 p.m. Copenhagen, Sept. 2. . 'A German submarine has been sunk off Sonderburg. Several of the crew 'nere killed. Swedish captains report that the Ger mans are imitating the British antisubmarine methods in the North Sea.
