Buyers were present in good numbers, a most satisfactory sale being held, prices throughout showing a sharp advance. Yearling, heifeis made £3 153 to £4 Is, yearling steers £5 4s, small £3 2s, empty 2-year heifers £5 14s and £5 las, Shorthorn yearling •bull £0 12s -Od, small store cows £5 4s to £5 lit-, good store cows £7 os to £S lis, forward cows £ll 10s to £lO 15s, springing heifers £0 to £9 7 s Od, dairy cows £l2 15s, hoggets 23s 7d to 245, forward wethers 375, ewes in lamb 30s Od.' On Thursday, 24th, at Bell Block, for Mr. Chas. Hoskin's clearing sale there was a good attendance. The purebred English Jjeicester ewes made 2 3 / 4 gns., ewe hoggets l%gns., rams l%gns. to 3y 2 gns., mixed'hoggets 22s Od to -23s 9<l. On Friday, 25th, at Waiwakaiho, tiiero was a full yarding, whish sold readily. One four-year maiden Holstein fat hei fei made £l4 10s, maiden Jersey fat heifers £ll 17s Od, small pen of' ewes with 200 per cent, of lambs at foot 30s, fat ewes 37s Od. On the same day at Frankley road, for Mrs., Crozier's clearing, sale, there was a good attendance, and bidding throughout was brisk. At Stratford on Tuesday, 29th, there was a fair entry of mostly good cattle, which found a ready market. On Wednesday, 30th, at Inglewood, there was a good yarding of cattle, the condition of which was not so good as at previous sales. Sheep—23so penned, a large proportion being good quality. Freezing buyers were operating, but in most cases the prices were beyond their limits. The demand was good and prices were equal to last week's rates.
