MARY'S BULB SHOW Although the weather had been very stormy previously, the bulb show held in St. Mary's Hail on Thursday ami Friday was a magnificent one, and it is hoped that the proceeds will strengthen the Sunday School building fund by the same amount as it did last year. Mr. G. Gilbert (secretary) worked with untiring energy, as also did the several committees. During the evening musical items were given by Mesdames McDonald and Wilkes and Miss Hine. Paton, Stratford, and Mrs. Hemingway, Warea, and Air. Albert James Harrison, Eltliam. Owing to so many relatives being at the front, only a few friends were present. The bride was given away by her uncle (Mr. F. A. iPrudcn) and was attired in white silk, with veil and orange blossoms. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. D. W. iPaton, a younger brother of the bride, as fcest man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the party adjourned, amid showers of rice and confetti, to town tea-rooms, where the wedding breakfast was «artaken of and the health and prosperity of the happy couple duly honored. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison left later in the day for Wanganui and Wellington, where the honeymoon is to be spent. TJie marriage of Miss Beatrifce E. Franklyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Franklyn, Inglcwood, to Mr. George J. Arnold, of Onaero, was solemnised in St. Andrew's Church, Inglewood, on Monday. The ceremony was performed by the vicar, the Rev. E. L. Harvie. The bride was attended by lier sister, Miss Violet Franklyn, and Miss Elsie Franklyn as flower-girl, and the bridegroom's brother acted as hest anan. The .bride looked very attractive as she entered the elmrdi on the arm of her father. After the ceremony the guests repaired to Mr. Franklyn's hospitable roof, where a sumptuous repast was provided. The usual toasts were honored, and every good wish was expressed for the future happiness of the newly-married couple. Tiie bride's presents were -numerous and handsome. Mrs. Burgess has received a post card from Nurse Kelly, of the hospital ship Maheno, commenting on the very useful garments s'he often comes across made by the Victoria League, New Plymouth, and adds, "I have often meant to write and let you know how useful they .are." .Miss Whitcombe has been very busy packing the gifts of "Uncle Stalky'?'' nieces and nephews to the backblocks. Two cases are going over Mt. Messenger to Okau and two cases to Uruti, to be used in a Belgian bran tub. Three, special parcels of toys are going to children who 'have never 'been oat of the bush, and most likely have never seen toys before.
