HDfDENSURG'S PLANS UPSET. London, August 31. The Daily Telegraph correspondert in Petrograd says that it is believed that Hindenburg had lately been preparing an offensive and had' brought up the available reserves, including six divisions of Turks which were in Galieia end Transylvania. The intervention of Roumahia upset the plans. A German communique says: There have been artillery battles west of the Biga-Dunaberg bridge head and -n the fitokhod salient, south-east of Kovel. ( We repulsed counter-attacks at Kuknl. A Russian communique says: We repelli'.l attacks on the west bank of the St rkbod, M miles north-east of Kovel, with heavy enemy losses.
