THE CLOTHING CONTRACT. By Telegraph.—Press Association Auckland, Last Night. The Hon. A. M. Myers, Minister of Munitions, stated to-day: "The rumor that I had cancelled the contract of enother clothing manufacturer owing to the use of cotton, instead of liiiea thread was correct." THE FIRE AT TRENTHAM. ' Auckland, Last Night. In reply to a query as to the damage done in the recent fire at Trcntham, the Hon. A. M. Myers said it had b*en found that the loss was not so serious as was at first anticipated. "In any case the holding of reserve Btoek has disposed of any difficulty likely to have been experienced in supplying equipments for the reinforcements that enter camp," explained the Minister.
