THE EMPIRE.
A KEYSTONE TRIANGLE COMEDY. j FEED MACE IN "CROOKED TO ' THE END." Although "Crooked to the End" which heads to-night's programme at the Empire, is described by the producers as a comedy, it i< more exciting than many dramas, and the humor is aptly described as "cyclonic." Speed and lively, yet amusing, action arc the essential factors of the production. Two railway engines travelling at top speed meet end on in a disastrous collision, and the heroine of the play is seen hanging perilously to the trollv-pole of an electric tramcar, which, travelling at a good speed, finally 'runs over the edge of a cliff, crashing to the ground 200 ft below. A race between two motor cars in pursuit ofthe villains of the story also provides many thrills. There are many exciting scenes, in contrast to which is one depicting an elderly pair of lovers being rescued from a quick-sand bog by clinging to the tail of a donkey. "A Night in Old &pain," and ''The Lesson of Narrow Street," dramas, and, the "The Excavations «jf O.stia," a sc-eiiie study, are supporting ilems. This humorous selection will be screened tonight and all day to-morrow from 2 p.m. Seats for any performance may be secured at Colliers.
