Germany, on the other hand, is preparing to declare Lithuania an independent principality to act as a buffer State, subordinated to Germany by military and commercial treaties, with the Kaiser's son as ruling prince. RUSSIANS IK HUNGARY Pctrograd, August 30. A Russian communique says: We .repulsed enemy attacks oi> the upper Sereth and Bystritza. . Wo captured Panker mountain. Our troops are 25 to 30 versts over the Hungarian frontier south of Lake Nimrodzhel. The Turks have retired from the entrance of the Bitlij Pass.
