RUSSIANS STILL ADVANCING London, August 29. A Russian communique states: We rebelled an attack in the Toboly .region against positions on the west bank of the Stokhod. The enemy fired over 2000 asphyxiating gas shells. We are advancing on the Lake Van front, driving out the Turks, whose attacks were repelled. One of our battalions found 400 dead. We have taken many prisoners on the bank of the Euphrates and westward of Mush. ' MODERN 1 TRANSPORT FACILITIES. llVtrograd, August 29. The-military have established a motorcar service from Petrograd to Archangel, which will supplement tiie railway.
