BRITAIN'S TRADE BOOMING. Lord Revelstoke, in his very encouraging remarks on English finance and the war, laid stress on the gratifying recovery in the Kuglisl ex,port trade. In August, 1(114, British exports dropped to •C24.000,n00, as compared with £44,000. 000 in August, 1013. A somewhat similai drop was recorded in all the remaining months ol' 1014. The earlier months of 1(115 showed little improvement, hut ■as the year progressed the export trade steadily recovered the lost ground. The inial icsults for the year, while not equal to those of 1!J14 or 1013. showed a greatel value of exports than in anv previous year down to 1010, with the "single exception of the boom year of 1007," The ex-portj of 1915 exceeded the exports of 1002 by no less than £101,000,000. The present year promises to give even better results. This is the more, marvellous considering the enormous amount of energy diverted from ordinary industrial enterprise to special wai work.
