"THE 8.K."
A BRIGHT, UP-TO-DATE BOOKSHOP. "The 8.K." is one of the most popular shops in :Xew Plymouth among those who seek literature in every form, whether it be hooks, magazines, periodicals, or the usual penny, paper,' and the numerous patrons of Mr. Brooker's wellstocked establishment must be vastly pleased with the latest additions that have been made for the convenience of customers. The shop length on the lower iloor has been extended for about 10 feet, and this allows of much more convenience to customers, in that the various bookshelves and stands can be inspected without inconvenience. Upstairs is Mr. Brooker's private office, completely equipped, and this extension further relieves the congestion that was previously unavoidable when the usual rush of customers commenced. The front of the B.K. shop has been entirely renovated, and now on both sides of the entrance are new plate-glass windows, behind which are numberless volumes to catch the eye of the reader. One window space is entirely devoted to a display of 3s <kl works that Mr. Brooker is now sacrificing at Is Cd, and among them are some stories well worth re-reading. The shop inside is. as always, replete with the very latest and best in fiction, historical and reference works, and up-to-date periodicals. The work of renovation was carried out by the Sas.li and Door Company in an extremely sliort time; Mr. Brooker affirms that the expedition with which it was done exceeded his expectations, ami certainly a most creditable job has been made. A visit to tihe B.K. will more than repay inspection, and the casual litterateur should not miss "Brooker's" w'hen in finest of something good to read.
