nURWORTH (From Our Own Correspondent.) A combined euchre tournament and basket social was held in the se'hool at Tlurworth, Carrington Road, on. Thursday lust, when some fifty people spent a very enjoyable evening. The entertainment was arranged in aid of the funds for the Red Oross Society, and all those who were present had every reason to be satisfied with the result. There being no expenses, the whole of the proceeds (£l4 7s fid) went to the fund. The sale of the baskets provided good fun, and .produced some spirited bidding under the gentle persuasion of the auctioneer. After supper, dancing was indulged in till a late hour, when the company broke up, well satisfied with their efforts in such a good causa
