WOMEN'S NATIONAL RESERVE.

AJJ OFFER TO THE MINISTER. " (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, August 24. Tlno Wellington branch' of the Women's National Reserve has furnished the Minister for Internal Affairs with x list of 100 women who are prepared to undertake clerical work in various branches in order to relieve men for service with the Forces. The women, are all fully qualified, and the Reserve will invite employers to state their requirements. There are indications already that places will be available for these 'women in the not distant future. The Minister for Internal Affairs told your correspondent to-day that he expected the movement to develop largely. Wellington had made a good start, and activity had been displayed in the same directions by branches of the Women's National Reserve in Christchurch and Dunedin. He had oeen invited to visit Auckland in order to assist in placing the Auckland branch on a good footing. There was no doubt at all, added the Minister, that the field for the employment of women would be widened very greatly as recruiting progressed and the drain upon the manhood of the nation became more severe. The Women's National Reserve was doing a very valuable work in organising women who were able and willing to perform the duties of men who must proceed to the front.
