Accused were before the court to-dav and were remanded, \ ~ ALLEGEE THEFT OF STOCK. Dannevirke, Last Night Davie Orniond Smjtli, farmer, fcirmerly of Tahoraite, was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, for the alleged theft of four heifers, the property of M. P. Knight. Bail was fixed at £2OO. The cattle subject to the charge were sold at defendant's clearing sale, two being purchased by Knigl't. Subsequent investigation led to ( the prosecution. Smith pleaded not guilty.
