PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE'S ANNUAL MEETING.
To the Editor. Sir,—May I have space to remind those who have contributed to the latnotic Funds controlled by the Committee that the annual meeting on Tuesday next is open to all contributors; that it is, in effect, a public meeting? Last year, there was an attendance of between 20 and ISO persona, very few outside the members of the original committee hcing present. This was discouraging, for such a committee should not be apart from, but of the public. The objects of the committee are the concern not of a few but of everyone of us. The committee should not be, a s it was last year, self-elected, but should be representative of the community, and there are some of the old committee who if they art to continue' in office wish to know that they are indeed representing the contributors. I hope that this reminder will ensure a full meeting for Tuesday, and that the many competent people in the town will get out of the habit of looking on while the other fellow works, and will comt in and take up theri- proper share.—l am, etc., J. E. WILSON.
