COURSING.

TARANAKI MAIDEN STAKE. , The final course of the season took place at the New Plymouth Club's iilumpton, at Glenavon, yesterday, when tivclve dogs contested the Maiden i-.take, in the presence of a good attendance of spectators. Some fair coursing was witnessed, one or two of the runs being exceptionally good. Mr. J. Jenkinson occupied the judge's box and -his decisions were never questioned. Mr. F. Doughty as dip, got the dogs well away. After a good course in the final, Phosphorous beat Ccmedy Lass and sircured the first prize, £5 and trophy valued at £3. the second dog taking £4, and Braeburn, the third dog, winning £2.
